Silhouette Week 49

I’ve been traveling quite a bit recently and will be traveling even more coming up. One thing that I love to do while flying is to look down at the land and the clouds as we pass by. It’s so crazy and surreal to realize how high up you actually are while flying. It’s awesome to see all the passing houses, neighborhoods, bodies of water and beautiful patterns. The view is always amazing and it inspired this weeks silhouette.

Speaking of Houses… We are looking at building our own since we will be adding another member to our family coming in August/September. So in the next few months life will get even crazier trying to build and prepare for baby number 2. We will have to see what kind of project baby number 2 brings. Any Ideas? No, seriously, I need some ideas.

Silhouette Week 48

Only 4 more to go. This weeks Silhouette was inspired by wooden puzzles for kids. Anybody out there want to make this into a real puzzle for me?

Silhouette Week 47

Only 5 more silhouettes to go! Once I am finished I think I will take quite a break from silhouettes for a while but until then I am hoping to knock out some great designs.

This morning I headed into the studio to make some thumbprints. I made this one by combining 2 of my own thumbprints.

Silhouette Week 46

Almost 12 hours of my Saturday was spent working on this silhouette. When I started this idea I had no idea it would take that much time to design but am very happy with how it turned out. This is yet another silhouette that I designed over at my friends Jake and Martine’s house and may be the last one that I will be able to do before it’s torn down.  Thanks again Jake and Martine for letting me use your house yet again. Below are some photos from different angles.

And just for fun.

Silhouette Week 45

Inspired by a cool clock design I saw on kickstarter, this week I decided to make a clock that lays out Vie’s daily routine. Included with the design are a few fun facts about her day. She sure does love some Yo Gabba Gabba.

Silhouette Week 44

Here is a silhouette that I’ve been wanting to do for a few months now. I finally got around to doing it this week with the help of a projector and a lot of tape. Below I have added a few shots from different angles.

Thanks again to Jake and Martine for allowing me to use their old house for a second time before they tear it down. Check out what I did to their house the last time I was there. Hopefully I can get in there one more time before “d-day.”

And just for fun…

Silhouette Week 43

Such a busy week that I almost wasn’t able to finish this one in time. I found a little bit of time tonight so I was able to get it done. So here it is. Week 43.

Silhouette Week 42

Week 42 is here with only 10 more weeks left till she turns 1 year old. The countdown begins. This year has just flown by so fast!

Wanted to play around with some geometric shapes this week, really like how it came out. Also, if you are into geometric design then check out geometrydaily.tumblr.com. Amazing stuff and a new one every day. That’s impressive!

Silhouette Week 41

Week 41 is here and we are so close to the one year mark. This weeks silhouette brings you a color blind test so I hope you all can see it alright. I am actually considered a bit “color deficient” but I can make this one out alright.

Thank you to Beautiful Decay for writing about this silhouette project!

Silhouette Week 40

I’ve spent most of the last 2 days looking for the free time to work on this silhouette. It has been one busy weekend. But I did get enough free time to finish this silhouette thank goodness! I decided to do another physical design and photograph it. It took me quite some time to string it all together but it turned out exactly like I wanted it to. Don’t you just love that beautiful piece of wood?

I’ve added a few detail shots of the final piece below.
